Another day at work... [Oct. 8th, 2000|01:10 pm]
Kurt Onstad
This is the advantage of having the job that I do. I'm allowed to surf the web as much as I want when I'm no busy with a call. And there's no calls coming in right now, so here I am.

Work is a nice mixture of predictable and completely different. I have a very predictable schedule, and I'm supposed to take my breaks at the same time every day. I work from 1:00pm to 9:30pm, with Thursday and Friday being my "weekend." My scheduled breaks are 2:45 and 7:30, with my lunch taking place at 5:00. Also, most of my calls are pretty easy questions about passwords and such. But, I get calls often enough that challenge me intellectually to make things interesting. Especially now that Windows M.E. is out. Try doing tech support on an operating system that you've only seen screen shots of, and have never actually used...It's fun!

I've reached a much calmer place regarding my upcoming date. I no longer bounce when I think about it, I just smile. It's very important that I reach this level before the date occurs, because I don't want to appear too anxious. Doesn't matter if I actually am anxious, I can't look it.

Last night was the first night since the kiss that I haven't talked to Megan at all, because she was at Rush with everyone else...It took me a while to remember why there was no one online. I felt so lonely...*Sniff* (That's mostly sarcasm...) I should have used that opportunity to write the show that's due tomorrow morning, but I just love to procrastinate too much. I did, however, make all the little fixes that need to be made from changing the file type from a Word for Mac 5.1 file to a Word 95 file. So, progress has been made...

Well, I'm sure I'm about to get my first call of the day any second now, so I'll end here for now. Depending on how dead the phones are today, I may be back later...
