Man, I'm aching all over... [Nov. 5th, 2000|01:39 pm]
Kurt Onstad
Neck...stiff. Knees...in pain. Thighs...sore.

And I'm happy...

I've never had that much fun at a wedding before. The bride and groom had a real sense of humor about the ceremony itself, which was great. They actually started the ceremony with the minister saying, "Mawwaige. Mawwaige is whaat bwings us togethah, today." (If you don't get that, go rent Princess Bride. It's one of the true classic movies of all time.) They also added P.S's to their vows to include things like "Will you love my cats, as much as your allergies will allow?" and "Will you respect my role-playing books as if they were your own?"

The reception was an absolute blast. Dinner was good, and after about 9 or 10 almost all of the older crowd and family left, leaving only the friends from the group that I've mentioned many times before. I danced quite a bit more than my body was happy with, but it was a lot of fun. I even got a slow dance with Megan at the end of the night, even though we're still keeping our relationship quiet. And I looked damn good. I got quite a few compliments last night...

The end of the night was even better. My ride to the wedding (Erik) had had to leave earlier (his parent's anniversary party was that night as well), which was a shame for him, but worked out well for me, since it meant that Megan had to give me a ride back to Erik's place...Damn. :)

She and I spent about 2 and a half hours together out in her car, talking, along with other activities. Our physical relationship took a leap forward last night, which took me somewhat by surprise, but very pleasantly so.

Megan was very embarrassed when Erik drove up. She got herself sufficiently straightened out in time that he didn't see anything, but she still was semi-mortified by it. Erik offered us cake, but neither of us were very hungry at that point (at least, not for food... ;) )

The same day as the wedding, Megan also had to deal with her grandmother's memorial service. That took quite a toll on her emotionally, so we talked about that quite a bit as well. I was glad I could be there as some sort of comfort for her...

Finally, around 3am, Megan decided it was time to go home. (We both mentioned leaving before then, but it was then that we actually meant it...) I went in, and went right to sleep, amazingly, considering how much adrenaline was flowing through my body at that point...

Actually sleeping the entire night is pretty hard, though, because Erik snores...Loud. So, when I woke up around 9, I was still pretty tired, like I am right now...And, the show's due tomorrow...I'm so not going to get the sleep I need tonight. And, chances are, I'll end up chatting with Megan tonight until about 1 or 1:30am. Maybe a little earlier, depending on how tired she is...
