Decision made... [Nov. 30th, 2000|05:51 pm]

Now, I just need to act on it.

Going out to spend time with the group this weekend. Mind completely on the whole Riki / Megan situation. Told Riki I need to talk to her tonight sometime alone. She gets to Court late, so that'll probably be during melee. Of course, I promised Megan that I'd tutor her in Statistics during melee...But, neither one of those should take the entire time, so I'm not as Grande of a Pendejo as that sounds.

Friday, I may be getting together with Megan, and depending on how my talk with Riki goes, that would either be a date, or me breaking up with her...Wow. That makes me sound like an asshole, doesn't it? Damn.

Saturday is Infidel's Feaste. That's the one event that we can invite non-members to. May be bringing Joel and his girlfriend, my roommates may also show up. We'll see.

So, all in all, a pretty full weekend. Not sure if I'll have time to do any updates between now and Sunday. But, obviously, I'll have big news next time I'm here...

Not feeling very witty right now...Sorry.

In the comments below, Riki is referred to as Lucy, and Megan is called Jessie. See, I used to use aliases for people, but decided not to...Oh, you get the point by now, don't you?

Oops. Too late to butt in...

but has that ever stopped me?

You've pretty much hit the nail on the head. It doesn't matter if Lucy wants to date exclusively right now. You're clearly building towards that. You're not getting any closer with Jessie, and wouldn't want to face that conflict if you were.

What needs to happen is for you and Lucy to have a normal relationship and let things develop in their own time. The pressure of "surpass Jessie now, or I'll keep dating her" isn't healthy for any of you.

Having established that one relationship has no likely future, why would you let it interfere with the other one?

Once you've had your talk with Lucy, you've crossed a line. Anything that happens with one relationship can only diminish the other. This is fine if you're only in it for the short-term thrill, but doesn't help you much in the long run. She'll probably leave it in your hands: "Do you want to keep dating Jessie?" That's what we call a test. It is truly your choice, but that's not to say she doesn't care, and that there isn't any consequence.

Whatever your judgement at the end of that conversation, you're going to get what you deserve.

Re: Oops. Too late to butt in...

Yeah, you're probably right. So, it looks like it's time to break things off with Jessie, no matter what Lucy says...Unless she says, "You know, I don't think we're compatible and I really don't see why I ever saw anything in you. And by the way, you're a lousy kisser!" But, I don't see that being a response. I just always imagine the worst case...

No you don't. You're never anywhere near the worst case. A brief list of things your scenerio should include before I'd buy that:
  • A swift kick to the groin
  • Expulsion from AOKP
  • The revelation that Lucy's a man
  • The revelation that Jessie's a man
  • The revelation (after waking up from your coma) that you're no longer a man
  • Another swift kick to the groin, for good measure
You see a cup and declare that it is half empty. I see the cup and decide it is likely poisoned (and keep that info to myself in hope that someone else will drink of it before thirst overtakes me).

Umm... Not sure what just came over me. Darkness. Wow. Sorry about that.

But, very funny darkness...

Damn. I had a response almost complete, and accidentally closed the wrong window...

As I was saying...You're right. My "worst-case scenario" wasn't anywhere near as bad as it could have been, but I was trying to stay in the realm of realism.

I'll let you all know how things went in my next actual entry, since some people don't read these comments that branch off from the main entries, and I don't want people missing out on the "main plot" simply because they follow things linearly.

About to take his 15 minute break...Will come back and complete an actual entry after that...
