Has anyone seen my glasses? [Jun. 19th, 2002|02:08 pm]
Kurt Onstad
I really don't want to buy a new pair, but I'm having trouble finding my reading glasses anywhere, and that makes work even more nightmarish than normal...It's weird. I have great vision (better than perfect, and excellent night vision), but when I focus too long on the monitors at work, I get all headachy and my vision wants to blur up. The glasses help me stay focused for longer periods of time. Strangely, I don't have that problem at home. I wonder if that has something to do with the flat panel monitor, or if it's something else.

So, really...Has anyone seen them recently?

::pouts::

You're so lucky...even with the strain headaches thrown in the equation. I have such terrible vision. Without my glasses or contacts in, I can only barely make out the general outline of facial features (as in, shadowy line delineating "nose") from three feet away.

Ah well. My imagination is quite vivid enough to make up for any and all of my other faults. ;)

Awww...

Hey, Laura! Long time no talk...Computer up and running yet?

Sorry to hear about your bad vision. I used to have a hard time imagining what that was like, until I walked out of work one day and let my eyes relax, and suddenly, everything was double and blurry...I don't think I'm going to inherit my dad's vision, though. He was already in regular glasses by my current age. I'm still using only reading glasses, and only for the computer work I do. Of course, now my dad doesn't need glasses. He went up to Canada and got lasic eye surgery...But, that's nothing compared to what mom's gotten. More on that tonight in my journal...

Re: Awww...

I've had to have strong glasses since I was 10, I think. I probably needed them long before that, but since I never said anything about not seeing clearly and all my work got done in school, it took a while to figure it out. ::shrugs:: They discovered it as early as they did even because they thought my vision might be the cause of the migraines I get...which didn't turn out to be the case. Damn. ::grins::
